Q: Why do Christians experience persecution?

B: John 15:20-21 Since they persecuted me, naturally they will persecute you. And if they had listened to me, they would listen to you. The people of the world will hate you because you belong to me.

Galatians 5:11 The fact that I am still being persecuted proves that I am still preaching salvation.

A: Many people don't want good and right to win over evil. Those who oppose God and what is good will persecute Christians. In many cases, persecution is a sign that you are making a real difference for Christ.

Q: If God has a plan for my life, what is the purpose of persecution?

B: 2 Thess. 1:5 God will use this persecution to show his justice. For he will make you worthy of his Kingdom, for which you are suffering.

A: Persecution defines who we are going to be in Christ. We grow as we respond to persecution in a Godly way.

Q: When we experience persecution, what are we supposed to do?

B: Matthew 5:44 Love your enemies! Pray for those who persecute you!

Romans 12:14 If people persecute you because you are a Christian, don't curse them; pray that God will bless them

A: We are to pray that God will bless those who persecute us, for it may be through our response to persecution that God will touch a hard heart.
