Is homosexuality wrong?

Leviticus 18:22 Do not practice homosexuality; it is a detestable sin.

The Bible is clear on this issue. God views it as a sin.

Are people born homosexual?

Lev. 20:13 The penalty for homosexual acts is death to both parties. They have committed a detestable act and are guilty of a capital offense.

So, no. People are not born homosexual. It would be against God's character for him to create a homosexual.

If people aren't born homosexual, then where do these feelings come from?

Romans 1:21-24 They knew God, but they wouldn't worship him as God or even give him thanks. And they began to think up foolish ideas of what God was like. The result was that their minds became dark and confused...So God let them go ahead and do whatever shameful things their hearts desired. As a result, they did vile and degrading things with each others' bodies.

Sin causes unnatural feelings in us. Only by staying close to God can we overcome those unnatural feelings.

How can people overcome their homosexual feelings?

1 Cor. 10:13 Remember that the temptations that come into your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will keep the temptation from becoming so strong that you can't stand up against it. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you will not give in to it.

People can overcome homosexual feelings the same way that they can overcome heterosexual desires--by looking to God for help, standing firm, and avoiding tempting situations.

Can God forgive homosexual behavior?

Hebrews 8:12 I will forgive their wrongdoing, and I will never again remember their sins.
1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us and to cleanse us from every wrong.

When we confess our sins, God not only forgives us but gives us new life. He will change our heart and mind and make us new people, free from our past sins.
